It's not a rebuild at all just a replacement of every component that makes up an engine so that makes it a new replacement engine. The cause of this deception is probably because you have far to many pens in your top shirt pocket. Makes me wonder if you can actually write.

OK, different comment from all the others moaning about using replacement parts. I can live with new parts. The only thing that grinds my gears guys is, 'wear freakin' gloves man!', loads of carcinogens about. Nice rebuild though. :-)

You seem to be taking a lot of flack about that first engine, any wrecker around here would have given one to me for $25. (I wouldn't have paid any more) and it would have turned over.
Actually a couple of guys around here would let me, maybe only me, bring in a load of scrap, throw in the junk I wanted, and weigh on the way out just paying scrap price.
Hell I have to say this $150. are you guys nuts, turn in your gearhead badges.

Far too much professional jargon, and procedures for a "backyard" mechanic. If it's too bad, find another!! Technical difficulty is a 10!

Cast crank blocks differ from forged crank blocks. Main bearings are different, specifically the thrust bearing.

Back in the late 80s I bought a K-car...a white station wagon with a stick on the floor and one of these engines. You just couldn't kill this engine. I tried!.lol even ran this fucker without oil and it didn't die!!
