As much as I love Shapiro, I hate how often he miss quotes Objectivism and Ayn Rand. Charity is a significant part of an Objectivist society and there are countless benefits to it. Her theory of a purely capitalist society requires and expects charity

Debt for college is an investment. The resulting pay determines whether the investment was a good one or a poor one. Bussing tables to save for med school is not efficient. The doctor just needs to live very frugally when he or she graduates until the debt is paid off. Allowing debt for a house but not for med school I do not think is prudent. Otherwise I agree with Dave Ramsey on about everything.

IMO you can not call yourself a liberal unless you take on the responsibility to be conservative. If you are not giving like no one else you are not a true liberal. If you are poor you need to be conservative not liberal. Poor and liberal is the WRONG path to take. In other words get it right at home then look to save the world.

Ayn Rand didn't say don't give to charity. She said it's not the place of government to make charity out of taxpayers money.

Love this interview especially the loan for med school topic. I’m a doctor and financial institutions start on us early. Beginning in med school financial aid department. They are selling! I took out 60k and that took me 10 years to pay off. Most docs owe 250-600k or more. It’s financially smart to do anything to not get into that debt even if you’re a doctor a lawyer or any higher paying occupation. Thanks Dave and Ben
